"When I want to store an unfinished project so that I may start an new one, I use the clear plastic bags with zippers that you buy mattress covers or blankets in. I include all of the supplies and the pattern. You can easily identify the project for later use. It is quick and easy to get back started again."

I would like to add: keeping all of your items together is crucial. I make sure that all the fabric, cut or uncut, stays with that project. I do not put the fabric back into circulation until my project is completely binded and finished. By doing this, it prevents me from accidentally using the fabric on a different project and then coming up short.
